In 1985, New Line Cinema brought us maybe the wildest entry into the “Freddy Krueger” franchise with A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge. Following up on the huge success of 1984’s A Nightmare on Elm Street, the team decided to go a different way and have a male lead opposite Freddy Krueger and so the character of Jesse Walsh was born.
When it came time to cast the role of Jesse Walsh, the powers-that-be decided upon former Junior Olympics gymnast Mark Patton who made a name for himself on Broadway opposite acting giants Cher, Kathy Bates and Karen Black in Come Back to the 5 & Dime, Jimmy Dean and then starred in the film adaption as well.
After playing Jesse, Mark soured on Hollywood as a whole and left it behind in 1986 before coming back to discuss the Nightmare series in 2010’s Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy.
Mark will be teaming up with Nightmare Worcester for this years New England Super Mega Fest to bring you a nightmarish experience you’ll truly never forget! Are you brave enough to step into the boiler room when “Jesse” meets up with Freddy once again?!
